A rally was held Thursday to spark support for a ballot initiative that would increase the cost of a pack of cigarettes by $2 and add fees to other tobacco products to be used for Medicaid expansion and other health programs. Kristin Page-Nei, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Montana Government Relations director, said a “major ground game” was planned for the tobacco tax proposal that is expected to be on the Nov. 6 ballot.
